This is a third person point and click game .Press space bar to skip dialogues. Double clicks make the characters run.
You can die in this game, so save game often. I have tried to give away as little as possible concerning the storyline and as you collect data and analyze be aware you may have to analyze the data through both the database analysis and the chemical analysis. Try everything and you dont need to stick rigidly to the walkthrough – there are different routes to be taken in the game. Enjoy !

Use this first introductory chapter to familiarise yourself with the tools in your inventory

Underground Cell

Go to far side of bed and push toward wall with first aid box. Climb on bed, open first aid box,see a bottle and four test tubes. Take bottle and test tubes into inventory. Seperate the test tubes. Combine the liquid in the bottle with test tubes. The antidote is in the tube that the liquid turns dark. Once determined which tube contains the antidote click that tube onto Paloma’s ID card in inventory. There is only enough liquid for two test tubes so if neither turn black take a chance with one of the others. If not reload game and try again as the answer seems to be generated randomly each time so there is no correct answer.

Tips on Using the Metal Detector
Open the Inventory Menu.Note that an image of the Metal Detector appears both inside and outside (to the left of) the inventory.
The image of the Metal Detector outside the inventory serves two purposes.
First, that image will appear grayed out in areas where it cannot be used.  Note that the Metal Detector can be used only in the Front or Back yard.
Second, you must click on that image to change the Metal Detector Settings.  Note that the Default Setting on the Metal Detector is “0,” indicating that it is OFF.  In order to turn the Metal Detector ON, you must change the Settings to 1, 2, 3, or 4.
It is only after you turn the Metal Detector ON that you will be able to pick up what we will call the Metal Detector Alarm (MDA) cursor, indicating the presence of an object that the Metal Detector is supposed to detect.
You must check for the MDA cursors by moving your cursor over any given area under each Detector setting (1 through 4), one by one.
When you see the MDA cursor, open the Inventory Menu, click on the Metal Detector inside your inventory, and close the Inventory Menu.  A cutscene will then show Victoria using the Detector to examine the spot where we had found the cursor.  She will then tell us what she found, and whether the object is of any use to us.
Note: Sometimes you will see the MDA cursor but, when you try to use the Metal Detector inside the inventory, Victoria will snap that “It’s not this” (or something like that).  Don’t worry.  All that means is that you must examine that spot under another Metal Detector setting.  So, just try the three other Settings, one by one, bringing out the Metal Detector from your inventory each time you change the Setting, until you get the cutscene showing Victoria using the Metal Detector.

Use the metal detector in the Front Yard

>> by the sheriffs car using setting 1 you will find small pieces of copper, setting 3 will show sheriffs car ! And setting 4 will gain you a handful of rusty nails and an old can.
>> by the gate setting 1 will get you a copper receptacle, setting 2 a large plate, and setting 3 the gate and railings
>> by the logs setting 1 a few pennies, and setting 4 a handle from an iron tool
none of the above are needed so back to work

the Backyard

>> you can search by the gate and back porch to see what you can find
>> but you need to go to the barrels by the leaves. Cahnge the metal detector setting to 3 and use on the grey barrel.
>> use the poker on the planks to see a hatch
>> click on hatch twice. The secont time you will get a reference number H103123
>> re-enter house and go to computer room

Solving The Digital Locks

To decode, you must transcribe each letter of the Name associated with the Code into the number of the order in which that letter appears in the alphabet. ( A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, etc.)  If the number consists of two digits, you must add the two digits together to get a single digit.  ( for example, Z = 26 = 2 + 6 = 8.)  As Victoria indicated, the Name associated with the Code for the Digital Lock to Paloma’s cell door is MARTIN.  So we decode it as follows.

Then backtracked to the fan and crept up along that far wall. Be careful of the camera trying to change your direction.
