Searching for clues ……

Cursed Mountain (Wii)

Posted by admin On May - 5 - 2009

Deep Silver today announced the opening of the official website for the survival horror game Cursed Mountain, an exclusive title for Nintendo Wii, at http://cursedmountain.deepsilver.com.
Set in the late 1980s, gamers will take on the role of a fearless mountaineer as he climbs into the Himalayas on a quest to find his lost brother. As he ascends the mountain, he encounters an ancient curse: the souls of the people who died in that region are stuck in limbo, caught in the Shadow World. Villagers, pilgrims, mountaineers and Buddhist monks – dead but not yet reincarnated – are all that is left on the mountain.

Terrible visions will disorient him, and ghosts and demons block his path. But the question remains – is his brother still alive? In Cursed Mountain, players take on the role of Eric Simmons, an expert mountaineer who climbs Chomolonzo, a sacred mountain in the Himalayas, to unravel the mystery surrounding the sudden disappearance of his brother. Reminding the players of how far they’ve come – and how far they’ve yet to go – the entire mountain can be seen at all times. As they climb, the mountain itself becomes an enemy – prone to the travails of altitude sickness and oxygen deprivation, players may not be able to tell the difference between real enemies and hallucinations.

Taking full advantage of the Wii’s motion-sensitive controls, as well as the rumble features in the Wiimote, Cursed Mountain looks to create an immersive horror experience set against the backdrop of the haunting atmosphere of the Himalayas.

On the official Cursed Mountain website, Deep Silver opens the gate to the next stop during the ascent of Mt. Chomolonzo in the Himalayas. What traces did Eric Simmons leave in the village at the foot of the mountain during the search for his brother? Are there any clues in the monastery? Postcards from his grueling trip, diary entries and video material speak of the dangers Eric encounters while climbing Mt. Chomolonzo. The documents surrounding his journey can be viewed at http://cursedmountain.deepsilver.com.
